On behalf of the Myer Community Fund, the Myer Precious Metal Ball was held on Friday 22nd May 2009 from 7pm at the Melbourne Museum, Carlton.

The Myer Community Fund in partnership with the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre raised precious metal for our wellbeing at a spectacular Black Tie evening.

Master of Ceremonies on the evening was Daniel McPherson, with entertainment from Kate Ceberano, Gerry Connolly, Avenue Q and Grace Bawden. Special guests included Olivia Newton-John, Dannii Minogue and Tottie Goldsmith.

The Myer Community Fund is committed to investing in the health and well being of the community. Each year the Myer Community Fund supports over 80 charities with a focus on children, youth and women’s health.

The Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre will be the largest, most comprehensive cancer centre in the Southern Hemisphere for treatment and research of all types of cancers – for men and women. It will provide therapies not available anywhere else in Australia. The centre will serve as a model for future treatment of cancer – with wellness therapies and support services alongside patient-centred care, medical treatment and international research; and will be located at major public hospital, Austin Health.
