The Dinner was hosted by David Koch and included an exciting celebrity line up with performances from Doc Neeson, Adam Harvey, Deni Hines and Prinnie Stevens from “The Voice”.

Special guests include the Governor of NSW Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir, the Chief of Defence Force General David Hurley, Former Chief of Defence Force General Peter Cosgrove, Former Chief of Defence Force General Angus Houston plus Commissioner Tony Negus from the Australian Federal Police.

The Australian military, police and civilians have been undertaking peace operations for over 60 years, with the first ever deployment for peacekeeping to the Dutch East Indies in 1947. Since then, over 90,000 Australians have been deployed in more than 60 peacekeeping missions around the world.

A volunteer committee of peacekeeping veterans have been working hard over the last few years to develop a National Peacekeepers Memorial on ANZAC Parade in Canberra to honour those who have and who will continue to serve on peacekeeping operations.

As one of Australia’s most influential businessmen, David Gonski will be participating in a Q and A session focused on “Issues affecting Australian business and its economy at the present time.” The Master of Ceremonies and moderator for this session will be Brooke Corte from Sky Business.

All monies raised will go towards purchasing an ambulance to be used by the emergency medical life-saving organisation, MDA.  Since June 2006, Magen David Adom has been officially recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as the national aid society of the state of Israel under the Geneva Conventions, and a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

It is only with support that MDA can continue to provide Israel’s 7.5 million citizens with state of the art life-saving facilities including blood supplies and research, ambulance and paramedic services as well as humanitarian aid in Israel and the International community.

Pre-luncheon drinks are served from 12noon – 12.30pm, while the luncheon commences at 12.30pm – 3pm. The post-event party will be held at Cargo Bar, King St Wharf.

The luncheon will honour Gordon Rugby’s rich history and relive memories over the past 75 years as well as induct Stirling Mortlock into Gordon Rugby’s Hall of Fame.

2GB’s Alan Jones AO will MC the event as well as pay tribute to Stirling, there will also be a performance from Wes Carr with special guests Robbie Deans, Arthur Summons, Rod MacQueen AM and former Gordon Hall of Fame Inductees including Charles Blunt, Michael Spalding and John and Beverly Kable.

Proceeds from the luncheon will aid the Gordon Rugby Club and the further development of junior rugby in the District. Part of the proceeds will also aid Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s mission is to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications through the support of research. JDRF work tirelessly to develop new and better treatments to improve the lives of those affected by type 1 diabetes.

The original Gordon Rugby Football Club was founded in 1927 on Sydney’s North Shore, playing in Metropolitan Junior Competitions and its home games on Roseville Chase Oval. The Gordon Rugby Football Club as it exists today was formed in 1968 and fields four grade and four colts sides. The Hall of Fame was created to remember unique contributions by members of the Gordon rugby community to recognise those who’ve contributed to rugby on the field and provided vital support off it.

Born in Sydney on 20 May 1977, Stirling Austin Mortlock began playing rugby with Lindfield Juniors at four years of age. Throughout his career he has played with the Wallabies, the ACT Brumbies and made his Test debut v Argentina in 2000. Regarded by many as the hardest running centre in world rugby, Stirling is the 4th most capped Wallabies Captain of all time. A former Wallabies and Brumbies Captain, Stirling Mortlock is also the current Captain of the Melbourne Rebels.
