“Like the Navy protects the Australian coastline, the Australian Surf Rowers League protects the shores of every state and territory around the country.”
Bert Hunt, president of the ASRL.

ABOUT THE NAVY ASRL SERIES

NAVY continues to celebrate its six year ongoing relationship with Surf Lifesavers from across Australia in 2013. The first round of competition in the series on the beaches of Surfers Paradise in November 2013 marks the start of the of Navy’s naming rights with more than 380 surf rowers from 60 crews – competing in men’s, women’s, masters’ and junior sections. This year also represents the first time Navy has put an all Navy team together to form a  national Navy men’s and women’s surf boat teams, based in Sydney.

The ASRL series consists of 23 events at some of Australia’s premier beaches, ending at StocktonBeach in Newcastle in February. The ASRL has more than 3000 volunteer members from across 260 clubs competing in surf boat competitions throughout Australia.
